主講人簡(jiǎn)介:

陳和生,中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士、粒子物理學(xué)家。1970年畢業(yè)于北京大學(xué)原子核物理專(zhuān)業(yè)。1984年5月獲得美國(guó)麻省理工學(xué)院博士學(xué)位。曾任高能所所長(zhǎng)(1998-2011)、中國(guó)高能物理學(xué)會(huì)理事長(zhǎng)、中國(guó)物理學(xué)會(huì)副理事長(zhǎng)、亞洲未來(lái)加速器委員會(huì)主席等職?,F(xiàn)任北京正負(fù)電子對(duì)撞機(jī)國(guó)家實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任、國(guó)家“十二五”重點(diǎn)工程中國(guó)散裂中子源工程指揮部總指揮和工程經(jīng)理部經(jīng)理。

陳和生院士長(zhǎng)期從事粒子物理實(shí)驗(yàn)研究。1979至1986年在德國(guó)漢堡DESY參加丁肇中教授領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的Mark-J實(shí)驗(yàn),為膠子物理研究和精確檢驗(yàn)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)模型作出重要貢獻(xiàn)。1983年起參加歐洲核子研究中心L3實(shí)驗(yàn)物理方案制定和探測(cè)器設(shè)計(jì),負(fù)責(zé)強(qiáng)子量能器設(shè)計(jì)、模擬和重建程序工作,主持tau物理分析組工作,對(duì)精確檢驗(yàn)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)模型、測(cè)定電弱參數(shù)和中微子代數(shù)等作出重要貢獻(xiàn)。1995至1997年主持阿爾法磁譜儀(AMS)大型永磁體系統(tǒng)的研制,在北京成功研制了人類(lèi)送入太空的第一個(gè)大型磁體,該磁體于1998年搭載航天飛機(jī)進(jìn)行了首次飛行,并于2011年送到國(guó)際空間站長(zhǎng)期運(yùn)行,該項(xiàng)目獲2000年國(guó)家科技進(jìn)步二等獎(jiǎng)(第一獲獎(jiǎng)人)。提出BEPC發(fā)展的科學(xué)目標(biāo)和方案,成功主持北京正負(fù)電子對(duì)撞機(jī)重大改造工程(BEPCII)。其主要性能比改造前提高100倍,為此前世界紀(jì)錄的14倍,現(xiàn)在運(yùn)行1年獲得數(shù)據(jù)相當(dāng)于改造前的100年?!氨本┱?fù)電子對(duì)撞機(jī)重大改造工程”獲2016年國(guó)家科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步一等獎(jiǎng)。2017年5月獲得首屆全國(guó)創(chuàng)新?tīng)?zhēng)先獎(jiǎng)?wù)隆?/p>

Brief Introduction of Professor Hesheng Chen

Hesheng Chen is an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a particle physicist. He graduated from Peking University in 1970 and received his PhD of Physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1984. He was the director of the Institute of High Energy Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1998 to 2011. He was elected as Chairman of the Asian Committee for Future Accelerators. He is currently the Director of BEPC National Laboratory of IHEP and Project Manager of the China Spallation Neutron Source.

His area of research is particle physics experiments. He worked at Mark-J Experiment of DESY for the gluon jet study and the precision tests of the electroweak theories from 1979 to 1986. Since 1983 he worked at the L3 experiment of CERN for the physics proposal and detector design, Monte Carlo simulation and Tau physics, and made contributions to the precision measurements of the Standard Model parameters and the number of the neutrino generations. Under his leadership, the AMS permanent magnet system was constructed in Beijing, and became the payload of the space shuttle Discovery 1998 as the first large magnet in Space. Since 2001, he was the project manager of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider Upgrade (BEPCII). BEPCII finished the construction on schedule within budget, and reached the design specification 2009. The luminosity of the BEPCII increased by a factor of more than 100 compared with the one before upgrade, and is a factor 14 more than the previous world record in the energy region. The Beijing Electron Positron Collider Upgrade (BEPCII) won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016.
